On my way into work this morning WTOP was playing an interview with Mark Warner. In addition to joking around about how when he waved his right hand it would really be a shout out to WTOP listeners, Warner mentioned how his speech might be a little different than you'd expect at a party convention. The difference comes in the fact that it'll place an emphasis on the need for our elected officials to reach across party lines to pass meaningful legislation during the next few years.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, that ability to reach across party lines is one of the things that I really like about Warner. Apparently this is a message that he's truly trying to promote not just during local interviews and his convention speech, but on a national level because he even stressed the concept of bipartisanship during an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" this morning.
