McCain Reeks of Elitism

John McCain has never been described as the most knowledgeable candidate in regards to economic policy. In recent weeks, however, he has shown just how out of touch with reality he really is. First he said you had to make a salary of at least $5 million to be considered rich and now he can’t even remember how many houses he owns. According to Politico, he said that they’d have to ask his staff about the number of houses he owns.
"I think — I'll have my staff get to you," McCain told Politico in Las Cruces, N.M. "It's condominiums where — I'll have them get to you."
With so many Americans who are struggling to just get by from paycheck to paycheck, it’s extremely unreasonable to think that a man who can’t even remember how many houses he owns to actually understand what the average American is going through. It’d be one thing if he just came from a powerful family – like he does – but not knowing how many houses you own and saying he’ll have his people get back to them just reeks of elitism. Especially when the campaign knew this was an issue because Cindy McCain had been asked about her wealth repeatedly.

I guess what this really means is that if you believe the economy needs improvement, John McCain is not the person who should be elected president.

  1. So...

Because he has lots of money, he doesn't know anything about the economy?

Wouldn't having and holding on to money mean that he has more economic knowledge than most people?

  2. Batman, if you have been following the news, you'd know that he's already admitted he doesn't know as much as he should.

Also, the thing is he isn't just holding onto his money. He's spending it so fast that he doesn't even know how many houses he owns.

  3. first sentence should read "he's already admitted he doesn't know as much as he should about the economy."

Sorry I didn't catch that before posting. I just get a little off guard when there's someone who's so out of touch with reality that they'll actually defend McCain not knowing how many homes he has
